Alex O'Loughling Moonlight Blood Drive

Tri-Cities Tennessee is a small but growing community in the upper eastern part of Tennessee. We boarder the state line of Virginia and we consist of Bristol TN/VA, Kingsport and Johnson City. 

 In September there will be another Blood Drive going on much like the one that went on back in April to save the Television Show Moonlight. Since then the show has been taken off the air but the blood is still needed. The star of the show Alex O'Loughlin became a willing spokes person for the American Red Cross because of such blood drive. 

 We have it set up to have another blood drive in September to celebrate the renewing of the show Moonlight but since it has been taken off the air we cant very well do that at this time. The Moonlight Fans are however still involved in helping the community's around them by donating blood and money and taking volunteers for the bone marrow program and supplying food to the food pantry's across the united states. 

On May the 23rd through May the 26 they had a Moonlight Convention in the city of LA and through the generous contributions of the fans the Moonlight Family took in about $6,500.00 and before they left the state they went to Costco, a local food store and bought over 3,300 lbs of food and took it themselves to the local food pantry.

 Moonlight is not just about a television show to us, it is so much more then that. We are a huge family spread across far and wide and we all love this show and we all want to do what we can to help the community's around us.

We need your help in our area to help bring much needed blood.

This August in Bristol we will once again be having our annual Nascar Food City Racing event. Starting on Aug 20th they will be having the Food City Family Race Night in Knoxville, Tennessee. It runs from 3pm to 8pm at the Knoxville Expo Center. 

Then on August the 21st Bristol will be hosting it's yearly Food City Family Race Night here in the downtown area. We shut off the whole downtown area to cars and we have so many things that goes on. Each year it gets bigger and bigger to where its well over 60,000 people crammed into a five or six block area. It runs from 1pm to 9pm on that date.

 On August 22nd we have the Food City 250 Race that goes on at the Bristol Motor Speedway. It is known as the World's Fastest Half Mile. 

Then on August 23rd we will have the big race NASCAR where the fans will fill the 160,000 seat center to watch them race. 

  If you are coming to the tri-cities area we need to get the blood flowing. We will be holding two blood drives in this area just for this event.  The first even will be at the Food City Family Race Day Event. August 21, 2008 we will be set up next to the main stage right in front of the TriSummit bank so you cant miss us. The times for this one will be from 1pm to 6pm so make sure you come on by and donate your blood. Then the next day on August 22nd we will be in Johnson City at the Red Cross on N State of Franklin Rd between the hrs of 8:30am to 12:00pm. So if you or anyone you know would like to help by giving blood please contact me and let's set up a time for you. 

 Please tell everyone you know. You do not have to be a fan of Moonlight to help or even Alex and the other stuff he has done such as The Shield, Mary Bryant, Oyster Farmer or Feed or anything else that he has been in. You just have to be a able to help out.
